Be a Witness for Justice in Washington DC April 5-10!

Join the CRLN delegation to DC to advocate on Capitol Hill for justice in the Americas at Ecumenical Advocacy Days (EAD) 2013 on April 5-8 and the National Day for Immigration Reform on April 10.   Ecumenical Advocacy Days brings together more than 1000 advocates for a weekend of issue briefings, advocacy training and worship culminating in a day (Monday April 8) on Capitol Hill meeting with your legislators on human rights issues in Latin America!  Then on April 10 we will return to Capitol Hill to advocate for just Comprehensive Immigration Reform! Learn about the proposals and the work to come on Comprehensive Immigration Reform here!

Join us at Ecumenical Advocacy Days (EAD)! Whether it’s your first time in DC or you are a seasoned advocate, the briefings by experts combined with the advocacy training will help you develop and sharpen your skills.  CRLN staff will help you prepare for meetings on Capitol Hill.

Food Justice!  This year, we will join EAD, looking at social justice through the lens of food. Neoliberal trade policies, transnational corporations, private land moguls and armed actors have been exploiting the resources of communities all over Latin America, specifically their land. Without land, many cannot continue a local and sustainable economy of food, much less provide for their families in their migration to safer places.

EAD Details! The first step to join the CRLN DC delegation is to contact Celeste Larkin by phone (773.293.2964) or email (clarkin@crln.org) to let us know you’ll be joining.  Then register online at the EAD website!  Looking for scholarships for the event? Contact your denomination as well as our office to explore what's available.  Also, please let us know if you'd like to share a room at EAD and we will try to find others in the CRLN delegation who are also looking for roommates.
