Immigration/Deportation Conference at McCormick Theological Seminary

Immigration Reform for FamiliesImmigration Reform for FamiliesMcCormick Theological Seminary's Center for the Study of Latin@ Theology and Ministry presents "Immigration, Deportation, and Mission," a day-long conference, on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at New Life Family Center, 2910 N. Central Avenue in Chicago from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.

 

Various workshops on theological and practical issues will be offered.  Ms. Marcela Hernandez, Outreach Organizer for CNSC/CRLN will speak on "Comprehensive Immigration Reform, Pastoral Care and More!"; Rev. Sara Wohlleb, Congregational Coordinator of CNSC/CRLN will lead a discussion entitled "How to Respond if a Loved One is Detained;" and Ms. Luvia Quinones, Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights will facilitate a discussion entitled "Access to Health and Social Services."

This conference is open to church and lay leaders and all who want to learn more about immigration and its theological aspects. While the event is free and open to the general public; pre-registration is required.
