Interfaith Vigil on Immigration: Building a Welcoming Chicago
In honor of International Migrants Day, you are invited to participate in an interfaith vigil on Thursday, December 16th. The purpose of the vigil is to include a diverse group of faith-based organizations and communities to come together and re-discover and re-affirm the power and importance of interfaith work around immigration in Chicago, and to recommit ourselves to keep working together in light of new challenges with a new Congress.
December 16th at 6pm
First United Methodist Church
77 West Washington Street, Chicago, IL
The program will include brief faith reflections on immigration from leaders in numerous diverse faith communities throughout Chicago, stories from leaders in Chicago's immigrant community, prayers and silence for affected immigrant individuals and families, and a group sharing of New Year's Resolutions around immigration in cooperation with the National Interfaith Immigration Coalition.
Please take a moment to consider what your New Year's Resolution will be in creating justice and equality in solidarity with our immigrant neighbors, and in building a more welcoming Chicago for all of God's people.
