Overnight Vigil at Broadview Detention Center April 26-27
Join us April 26th and 27th for an Interfaith Vigil at Broadview Detention Center Calling on President Obama and Congress to Stop Destroying Families
Last year almost 400,000 immigrants were detained and forcibly removed from the US by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Students, Faith and Community will join together for an overnight vigil calling on President Obama and Congress to stop the deportations that are destroying our families and our communities.
Monday April 26th 7-9pm: Opening Vigil
Followed by food, discussions, and community building activities as we stand watch and witness the busses carrying
Tuesday April 27th 6-8am: Closing Program
The closing vigil will be part of a public witness to the ICE vehicles carrying our immigrant sisters and brothers to be deported
Where: Broadview Detention Center (1930 Beach St., Broadview, IL 60153)
Directions to Broadview from Chicago Loop: The facility is located at 1930 Beach St., Broadview, IL 60153. Drive I-290 W to South 25th Ave exit, 18A, Turn Right at Lexington St., Turn Left on Beach St. The building is not well marked. It is located on the right-hand side with a flag pole in front and a barbed wire fence next to it.

Monday April 26th
5:30PM-6:30PM pick up from Harlem-Lake Green Line Train Station
9:00PM-10:00PM drop off to Train Station
Tuesday April 27th
4:30AM-5:30AM pick up from Harlem-Lake Green Line Train Station
8:00-9:00AM drop off to Train Station
