People of Faith Standing for Justice and Against SB1070!
The Russell Pearce's anti-immigrant bill, SB1070, was passed into law by Arizona Governor Brewer on April 23rd, 2010. The bill will effectively force police to engage in racial profiling, criminalize unauthorized migrants for 'trespassing' into Arizona, and permit anyone to sue local agencies if they believe that the law isn't being adequately enforced.
People of Faith and Conscience Are Standing up to say "We Will Not Comply with SB1070"
The Pledge of Non-Compliance with SB1070
I join with other persons of faith and conscience in protesting Arizona State Senate Bill 1070, passed by the forty ninth Arizona Legislature and signed into law by Governor Jan Brewer on April 23, 2010.
I pledge non-compliance with any and all mandates contained in 1070 that would require that I determine the immigration status of another human being.
Furthermore, I pledge non-compliance with any and all mandates that require me to report any other person who knowingly or unknowingly does not comply with S.B. 1070.
