30th Anniversary Delegation
The Struggle for Human Rights and Economic Justice
March 19-27, 2010
Join with the Chicago Religious Leadership Network on Latin America (CRLN) as we unit with the people of El Salvador to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Archbishop Oscar Romero. The CRLN group will be hosted by the Centro de Intercambio y Solidaridad (CIS) located in San Salvador, El Salvador.
Program Activities:
- Join anniversary activities through the week
- Hear testimonies from friends of Romero
- Meet with government officials and grassroots organizations working for economic justice
- Visit CIS-sponsored economic alternative proejcts such as artisan co-ops, coffee co-ops, and women's businesses and help to help a fair model for trade
Logistics:
- The cost of the trip $1550. This includes all pre- and post-trip resources, in-country programming, and transportation, program set-up, meals, lodging, language interpretation, entrance fees, and round-trip airfare from Chicago. Fundraising consultation available.
- Cost is based on 3-5 people/room. Doubles and singles available at an additional cost.
- All participants must fill out an application form. This form is available by contact Erica at espilde@crln.org or by calling the office at 773-293-2964.
- A $150 non-refundable deposit is required with your application (the deposit will be refunded to you if we cannot place you on the trip). Your application and deposit must be received no later than January 15. In some cases, space may be available after this date - please contact Erica at the CRLN office for more information. Final payment will be due Febuary 15.

The CIS mission, as stated on their webpage "The CIS mission is to promote solidarity and cultural exchange across borders between the Salvadoran people and others in the search for development and dignity. e work to promote and strengthen a culture of solidarity that implies accompaniment, respect for equality of different cultures, and mutual support between people. We focus on using different strategies to promote a solidarity that creates the space for grassroots organizing for justice and dignity."
