Chicago Tonight WTTW: Vigil for Undocumented Immigrants

The Chicago New Sanctuary Coalition has been working with the Sisters of Mercy and the Interfaith Committee for Detained Immigrants for the last three years to accompany and support immigrants in detention and to work to change our unjust and broken immigration system.  Here are is a recent new story on Chicago Tonight about the work at Broadview Detention Center and the leadership of Sister Pat Murphy and Sister JoAnn Persch.

When Sheena Perez walked into the federal detention center in Broadview just after dawn Tuesday, she carried $200 in cash and a backpack filled with two T-shirts, two pairs of jeans and underwear, all freshly ironed.
